Writer's block?

Do you have writer's block? Feeling slightly guilty that you have posted for a while, but you just don't feel inspired to write? Then why do it? It's a hobby, right?

If you're like me and you started writing a blog because you felt inspiired and driven, but think seem to have lost this initial drive, the kind of drive that motivates you to carry a note pad because your head is that full of ideas you just need to store them then and there. You are literall buzzing about your next post and exctidly rush home ready to edit your photos and write your master piece. The high you feel when you have checked and double checked and finaly click "publish". Where has this feeling gone? How have you gone from that to feeling "guilty" about "neglecting" your blog. Firstly, you needto remember THIS IS A HOBBY! When was the last time you felt guilty about not doing your hobby becuase you didn't feel like it? Why write if you don't feel motivated to do so?
If you're like me and you simply feelng frustrated because you're desperte to write, but you simply have a mind blank and don't know what to do, here are a few of my tips to get my creative juices flowing.

  1. READ, READ, READ, As Bono famously said, "every poet is a thief". So take inspiration from other blogs. That doesn't man copy, but take inspiration. How often when you read something does it inspire you to write a post. Perhaps you a agree with a post, or maybe you think its crap and maybe it ingnites something which makes you think of something else creative. The best writers are readers.
  2. Don't think about what people want to read, think about what inspires you to write. Once you are writing for the wrong reasons, your blog has no creditablity and you're a sell out.The idea of a blog is to write about someting that you know about. not what you think people want to hear. If you do that, without a geninue passion, your post will appear false and without and credibilty.
